This summer the programme will take place under special circumstances, since the Centre can resume activities provided that sanitary measures are strictly observed.

Whether you are vaccinated or not, whether you have a negative PCR test or not, does not change the need to respect sanitary measures.

Your presence in Montchardon implies that you strictly respect sanitary measures in all circumstances.

We are now used to these measures:

  1. Wear a protective mask in the temple during the whole teaching or practice period, in the refectory until you start eating, and in all situations where it is difficult to maintain a 1m distance with others.
  2. Hand wash with hydro-alcoholic gel when entering and leaving the temple and refectory, whenever accessing the self-service area and on all occasions when touching a collective object.
  3. Maintain a distance of 1m around yourself, in the temple, in the refectory and when moving around in the Centre.

Access to the temple will be limited to 70/80 people to respect sanitary distances.

For accommodation, the rooms that accommodate several people will become individual rooms, except for couples or families. The number of places in the dormitory will be reduced to space out the beds. This will allow us to accommodate about 80 people.

The campsite area will be open, and the layout of the tents should follow the same guidelines. Disinfectant will be available in all places where necessary.

These rules must be maintained in Montchardon at all times.

Indeed:

We have a moral obligation to protect ourselves and others from disease, especially as we live in collective premises.

It is important to continue to protect Lama Teunsang, whose immunity is greatly diminished, even though he has been vaccinated.

For these reasons, we are asking all those who come this summer to commit to respecting sanitary measures. This commitment will take the official form of a box to be ticked on the registration form, which will allow everyone to come to the Centre with complete peace of mind.

If you cannot or do not wish to follow these guidelines, we ask you not to come to the Centre while these rules are in effect.

The same applies, of course, if you are ill or have symptoms of the virus.

When you leave, if you need to have a PCR test, this can be done in the cities in the area. However, it will be up to you to organise (making an appointment, travelling to and from the test site), because the Centre cannot manage these procedures.

Description

For several years now, Lama Teunsang has wished to introduce several series of 8 Nyung Ne annually, during periods favourable to this practice, during which the benefits are multiplied. Thus, each year, the practice takes place during the All Saints’ Day holidays, a period which generally includes the Lhabab Dutchen, a festival traditionally considered particularly favourable to the practice of the Dharma. This year, the date of Lhabab Dutchen falls late in November. For practical reasons, we have decided to keep the 8 Nyung Ne during the holidays at the end of October. This retreat will be led by Droupla Cathy who herself has performed the practice many times. It is necessary to arrive the evening before (October 19). The practice will end on Monday, November 2 in the morning, at 9 am. It is possible to participate only partially, by doing only one or more Nyung Ne.

How to participate?
It is possible to do the whole retreat of the 8 Nyung Ne, to follow it partially, to join it at any time for one or more Nyung Ne (arrive the day before a Nyung Ne).

What is the practice of Nyung Ne?
Nyung Né is a practice linked to the aspect of Chenrezig This practice combines all aspects of the Dharma, as well as the essence of the three vehicles: observance of the vows of ethical conduct, training in the Bodhisattva’s Awakening Mind (development of love and compassion), and the use of the skillful and profound means of Vajrayana including mantra recitation and visualizations. « Because of the great cleansing power of this practice, even a being who has performed extremely harmful acts, if even one Nyung Ne by performing it correctly is assured of not having to be reborn into the lower states of existence and progress, will quickly be on the path to Awakening. »

About the Eight Nyung Ne
One of the benefits resulting from the practice of eight Nyung Ne, called « White Nyung Ne », is thus formulated by Chenrezig

The unfolding of a Nyung Ne
A Nyung Ne takes place over 48 hours (two days + an early morning), during which the ritual is performed 7 times (3 times on the 1st day + 3 times on the 2nd day + 1 time in the morning of the 3rd day). Vows are taken only on the 1st and 2nd day. If one has decided to perform a Nyung Ne and one has taken sodjong vows on the morning of the 1st day, it is necessary to attend all the sessions and to perform the Nyung Né entirely, without interrupting it.

Nyé Né (partial fasting): Those who are unable to observe the total fast on the 2nd day, can perform Nyé Né, the partial fast, by taking rice soup in the morning and a meal at noon.

It is necessary to arrive the day before because the first session takes place at 5:20 am in the temple of Nyung Ne.
Details of the practice schedule, the course of the fast, the sojong vows, the inner and outer attitude to adopt and other information are communicated by email at the time of booking.

Session fee: see special price Nyung Né.

Warning: before engaging in this practice, it is essential to know if you are motivated to keep the vows you take when you perform Nyoung Né.
